Kill-A-Watt!
October 1, 2006 Furman kicked off the Kill-A-Watt Challenge. North Village residents are challenging themselves to reduce energy use and to recycle more. Hundreds of students have signed the Eco-Contract, agreeing to be energy-sensitive by turning off lights and appliances, keeping thermostats neutral, and recycling.
North Village resident Toru Ishizawa won the big-screen television raffle as part of the kick-off for the Kill-A-Watt Challenge. The raffle was open to students who signed an Eco-Contract, and was sponsored by RLC, the Environmental Action Group, and the Year of the Environment Committee.
